Join us tonight at MuTeFest’15 for Äänijooga/Sound Yoga! What could be better for getting your energy up in mid-week in November…
7pm, Vapaan Taiteen Tila, Vilhonvuorenkuja 15-16, 00500 Helsinki
Sound artist Ava Grayson and yogi Reeta Partanen invite all to come participate in a blissful hour and fifteen minutes of flow yoga and quadraphonic live sounds and visuals. Äänijooga is suitable for all yoga levels, and encourages participants to listen with their ears, their bodies, and their minds.
Bring your own yoga mat, rug, or blanket. We will work with sounds and motions that will help us all ease into the slumber of winter.
In lieu of an entry fee we ask that anyone who feels inspired to donate will be helping us use äänijooga as a way of donating to Finnish Red Cross.
Reeta Partanen is a yoga teacher with 15 years of yoga experience, specialising in slow flow and yin yoga. She encourages yogis to listen and learn how to do thing with their own body and soul, in their own way.
Ava Grayson is a performer and sound artist who wants her work to encourage people toward a broad practice of listening, inside and out of musical settings. Her thesis is the development of äänijooga, and she works to build sonic environments that are a part of a larger event created to bring a unique and open experience to all involved.
Each äänijooga session is completely live, and developed to be a unique event based on the space and circumstance in which the session is held.
